LOV-Story #Florida
Did you know that…
… Miami Beach is home to the world’s largest contiguous collection of more than 800 Art Deco buildings?
A space that tells stories
The lobby of Palm House opens like a small tropical garden. Sea greens, sand and coral tones blend with the softened light of our palm-leaf luminaires, suspended above the clean lines of Neo Art Deco architecture. Each ray of light falls differently, refracting across the leaves and casting gentle patterns onto floors and furnishings. The space breathes, comes alive, without the light ever feeling intrusive. It is a place that offers calm, conveys luxury and at the same time captures the warmth of Florida’s coast.
As one moves through the various areas, further details reveal themselves: delicate metalwork that echoes the tropical theme, subtle lighting accents in the restaurant areas that bathe dinner in a golden glow, and suites in which our chandeliers hover above the space like a leafy canopy. Everything is in harmony – architecture, light and colour – creating a sense of balance that is felt immediately.
Florida – a state of contrasts
Florida is a state defined by diversity. In the north, the colonial streets of St. Augustine tell stories spanning centuries. Here, the Spanish past is palpable in lovingly restored buildings, cobblestone streets and intimate plazas. Further south, life pulses with energy: Little Havana in Miami is filled with Cuban music, exotic aromas and vibrant street life, while Miami Beach, with its pastel-coloured Art Deco façades, endless beaches and tropical sunshine, forms a world of its own.
Nature is equally contrasting: the Everglades with their alligators, exotic birds and mangrove swamps; the Florida Keys with turquoise waters and coral reefs. Everywhere, Florida’s light is present, casting warm, golden tones across the landscape. It is precisely this light that our palm-leaf luminaires capture and reflect within the interiors – as if the tropical energy of the Sunshine State could be breathed in with every step.
Light that brings design to life
Our pendant lights and chandeliers are more than sources of illumination – they are storytellers. Each leaf is handcrafted in antique bronze, as delicate as a piece of tropical nature. Light breaks across the leaves, casting soft patterns on floors and furniture and creating subtle accents that bring architecture to life.
In the lobby, the restaurant or the suites, light reveals how design can be interpreted and culture experienced. Every beam speaks of tropical luxury, Art Deco elegance and Florida’s cultural diversity. Those who enter the space perceive not only an architectural concept, but the atmosphere, the history and the energy of the place itself.
Where light and culture merge
In the evening, as the sun sinks behind the Atlantic, the luminaires begin to glow softly. Light dances across the clean lines of the Neo Art Deco architecture, capturing the colours of the interiors and reflecting the surrounding tropical landscape.
Palm House Hotel is a place where architecture, light and culture merge into a seamless symbiosis. Every ray of light conveys tropical flair, Art Deco elegance and the vibrant energy of the Sunshine State. It is not merely about design or luxury, but about atmosphere, emotion and the experience of the moment. When leaving the space, one carries with them the warm glow, the play of light and the story of Florida, held close at heart.
